8 months old!!

Happy 8 month birthday to our sweet Ethan Jeffrey! I can't believe how close you are getting to the big ONE year! I just want you to stay my baby forever...but before I know it you will be as big as Ayden. It seems like I was just blogging about him turning 8 months old! :( Okay, enough with the sad mommy comments, here is what you are up to these days!

-Your personality continues to emerge, and overall you are revealing yourself to be a very calm and quiet baby, with a smile on your face 95% of the time! I will not go on and on with comparisons to your older brother, but the I am already seeing so many differences in the two of you even at your young age! Ayden had to be moving and doing something all the time and had zero patience, his strong-will was already set! You, on the other hand, are happy to be in the middle of the action or just kicked back and watching. You very rarely fuss or cry, unless you are really tired or hungry. You just "go with the flow"!

-You have a smile that melts momma's heart! Those big blue eyes and that precious smile meet me first thing every morning and just make my day!

-You love for momma to sing to you (especially the Veggie Tales song), for daddy to tickle you, and to play with your big brother!

-Your favorite food is still sweet potatoes, followed by pears, apples, or prunes, bananas, and yogurt. You like other veggies too but not as much as the sweeter stuff :) Mommy has been giving you a few bites of table food and you LOVE everything you have tried! You also love to feed yourself crackers and cheerios.

-By my "unofficial" measurements, you weigh just over 20 pounds and are between 29-30 inches long.

-You are wearing size 12 and some 18 month clothing and are about to start wearing size 4 diapers because you soak your diaper through almost every night!

-You are in a great routine of a morning and afternoon nap and going to bed around 7. You still wake up like clockwork every 4 hours during the night and drink an 8 oz bottle before passing back out! The 5% of the time that you aren't happy occurs at night--you want your bottle the second you wake up and scream till its ready! You don't do this during the day! You will have a FIT if I try to put you in bed with me to snuggle--you like your space to wiggle! So I guess I could say that you are kina grumpy at night! ;)

-You are pushing up on your hands and knees and rocking back and forth--I know you will be crawling before long!

-Your favorite game is to bang all your toys on your highchair tray and then throw them in the floor so mommy will say "Uh-oh!" You laugh and think it's the funniest thing ever!

-You are such a fun and happy little guy, we love you very much!
