Last week we made the 12 hour drive to Houston, TX to visit my best friend Melissa in her family. Last time we visited them was almost 2 years ago and we flew, so needless to say we were pretty nervous about the long drive with Ayden! But...he did amazingly well! He took 2 naps and watched movies and barely fussed or cried at all. What a relief! Thank you portable DVD player!!! Ayden and Melissa's 4 year old, Lily Kate, hit it off immediately and spent every waking second playing together! They were so adorable! It was very nice to have someone his own size to keep him entertained, it gave Melissa and me plenty of time to visit and play with her newest baby girl, Isabelle, who is 5 months old. It definetely put me in full-swing baby mode! While we were there we took Ayden bowling for the first time and he loved it--as long as it was his turn that is!! He had a complete screaming meltdown at the end of his turn for the first half of the game. Definetely a good way to teach about taking turns! The kids also made Valentine's cookies and Lily Kate was even sweet enough to make Ayden a personalized Valentine and buy him a gift! (Do I hear wedding bells?) :) We had such a wonderful visit are hoping to have the Flores' back in Arkansas soon (to stay!)
