Life changing decision...

Some of you may already know I have been considering and researching weight-loss surgery for some time now. Today I finally met with the doctor for an evaluation and pre-operative consultation. I am now planning on having surgery in January! I initially was planning to have lap-band surgery, but the doctor feels like I am a perfect candidate for a Sleeve Gastrectomy. That's right...removal of my stomach, 75% of it to be exact. It's drastic and non-reversible, but I really feel like the benefits outweigh the risks tremendously. I have lost weight time and time again, only to gain it all back and I really am ready to do something serious about it while I am still young and relatively healthy. They expect me to lose approximately 120 pounds within a year. It will be done laparoscopically and I will only spend one night in the hospital. The doctor said pregnancy will be perfectly safe (actually safer) once I lose the weight as long as I wait at least one year after surgery, which isn't too much longer than we were planning to try for kiddo #2 anyway. I just wanted everyone to know about this life changing decision I am making! I will keep everyone updated on the process and let you know for sure when I am having the surgery!
