Christmas 2011

We had a wonderful, memorable first Christmas in our new home! My parents, grandma, and Nick and Brandy came to stay the weekend with us. I loved hosting the family Christmas and look forward to doing it for years to come! I did lots of cooking this year! Thankfully my sis-in-law Brandy likes to cook too and helped me out! We had our big family meal on Christmas Eve, put out cookies for Santa and reindeer food, took pics of the boys in their Christmas jammies in front of the tree, and then put them to bed. Then we all watched "It's a Wondeful Life" in front of the fire while setting out all the Santa gifts for the boys. It was definetely a busy day/evening, but so fun! Christmas morning was a blast, having a 4 year old and 15 month old made for one of the best Christmas mornings yet! We also exchanged and opened all our family gifts, so there was an abundance of wrapping paper on the floor that morning! Finally we had a yummy brunch with my traditional Monkey Bread, and also a yummy breakfast casserole my mom made, and coffee and Mimosas to drink. We had such a good time, and it was all made even more special that my grandma was with us to celebrate after spending last Christmas in ICU on a vent. Ayden got to open one gift on Christmas Eve. I thought I was giving him a movie to open, but gave him the wrong package--
it was one of his big surprises- Indiana Jones Wii game. He was BEYOND thrilled!!
