Sweet baby brother is 4 months old today! As one of my baby books put it, this is the "honeymoon" phase of babyhood--and I couldn't agree more! He is in a pretty set eating and sleeping routine, and when he is not doing one of those 2 things, he is smiling, laughing, cooing, drooling, or chewing! He is soooo happy and just lights up the room by being in it. Here are some things about him at 4 months old:
He has found his fingers and loves to chew and suck on them all day. He still will NOT take a binky! I am going to keep trying until he is 6 months before I throw in the towel! ;)
He drools so much that I have to change his outfit several times a day. I don't remember Ayden doing this, but maybe he did? I don't know. But he doesn't like bibs because he flips them up over his eyes!
He still sleeps the same way he was a month ago-swaddled in the bouncy seat. He did move up to a bigger swaddle blanket made for older babies. He is not sleeping quite as long as he was a month ago, he wakes up every 3-4 hours to eat, but that's still not too bad.
He is nursing about 4-6 times during the day, twice at night, and takes four 4-5 oz bottles somewhere in the mix. He is growing like a weed and I can't wait to see how much he weighs at his check-up next week!
He has lost almost all his hair and his eyes are still blue! He may just be our blue-eyed boy!
He can roll from tummy to back and is very close to rolling from back to tummy. If he spent more time in the floor he would be able to master this, but between Ayden and the dogs running around, I don't like leaving him in the floor unless I am RIGHT there to supervise!
He still screams in his carseat the majority of the time, and I avoid running errands and going places with him as much as possible because of this! Luckily, he eventually gives out on longer car trips and sleeps :)
He had his first stroller ride outside this week and seemed to really enjoy it!
And lastly, for anyone who cares, his digestive system has finally regulated and he goes every day or every other day....SO much better than twice a week! He's a happy dude now! (I'm sure when he's older he'll be so glad I blogged about his poops) :)
Happy 4 month birthday my sweet beautiful baby boy!!! We love you!!!
