Melissa and Lily Kate visit!

We just had the best 4 days with my best friend Melissa and her 3 year old daughter Lily Kate! They made the very long drive from Houston, TX to spend a few days in AR and I'm so glad we got to see them...it was the first time in over a year! Ayden and Lily had a great time playing together, although getting 2 'only' children together who are almost 2 years apart in age guarantees a few tears on each end :) But overall they played very well together and Lily Kate was such a sweet and well-behaved little girl!

We spent Friday in Branson at Whitewater and had a blast splashing and playing and floating in the lazy river, where Lily Kate drifted off to sleep :) Ayden loved all the water and both the kiddos threw a fit to go down the water slides, which of course they were way too little to do! We can't wait to take them back in a few years to ride more rides! Saturday we spent the afternoon shopping for new baby clothes for Melissa's next baby girl, Isabelle, due in October! Of course, Ayden and Lily Kate got a few things too :) Ayden went crazy over a stuffed Mickey Mouse, yelling "mouse, mouse!" until Mommy got it off the shelf and bought it for him. Yes, I do realize he is spoiled, and no, I don't know what we are going to do about it :)

After shopping, we met up with Melissa's Aunt Chris, who lives in Springdale, for dinner at Cracker Barrell. If we thought our kiddos were spoiled before, this little outing brought it to a whole new level! Ayden quickly took up with Aunt Chris and she was kind enough to buy toys and candy for Ayden and Lily before we left Cracker Barrell...which was so sweet of her! Then we went over to her house and the kids got to play with her new yorkie puppies, feed her giant goldfish in her fish pond, and run around her backyard playing chase. Aunt Chris sent Ayden home with his very own beta fish and tank, lots of kisses, and an open invitation to come back and play anytime! We really enjoyed our visit with her!

We were sad to see Melissa and Lily leave, but are already planning a trip to Houston after the new baby arrives! Here are a few pics from their visit, but Melissa has more on her camera that I will post when she sends them to me.
