We broke out the baby swing this week! Notice Ayden was not into smiling for the camera. I think after 3.5 years of having a camera in his face, he is a little over it! Lol, I really can't blame the kid! At least Ethan will still smile for the Mamarazzi!! :)

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! We all woke up early and exchanged Valentine's gifts before Chris had to leave for work. Ethan looked so sweet in his Valentine's outfit (the same one Ayden wore 3 years ago!). Both the boys got a new book and a card, Ayden got a pillow and Ethan got a puppy, and Ayden got balloons and candy. Ethan LOVED Ayden's balloons and has enjoyed watching them float around the living room all morning :) I am so blessed to have 3 special guys to be my Valentines!

Our record-breaking snowfall!

After a forecast of 4-6 inches of snow, we woke up this morning to 10 inches with it still coming down!! A heavy band of snow moved into our area and we ended up with about 14 inches at our house, other places near here have over 20 inches! It was really fun to try to walk in snow that deep, and seeing the dogs (esp Andy) running through it was quite funny! Ayden enjoyed the snow, but it didn't take much convincing to get him inside, he has had just about enough of this stuff!! Nonetheless, it is very beautiful and the most snow Chris and I have EVER seen!

Breaking the cabin fever!!

Today we ventured out as a family for the first time in over a week! Ayden was probably the most excited of all of us to get out of the house. We went to Sam's Club and saw just about everyone we knew, apparently they all had the same idea! We ate lunch in the little cafe (all of us ate for $5, gotta love that place!) and then looked around for healthy snacks to eat while watching the superbowl! We bought some fresh veggies and red pepper hummus, which we had never tried before. We tasted it as soon as we got home and both love it! It's very yummy! We also picked up some dried papaya and kettle corn. We'll throw some cheese dip in the crockpot and bake some chicken wings later and our gameday feast will be complete! It was so nice to get out and about before the next big winter storm hits!

Happy 5 month Birthday Ethan Jeffrey! Here is what you are up these days!

-You moved up to a size 3 diaper and are wearing mostly 9 month and some 12 month clothes, you are a big boy!

-You weigh between 17-18 pounds on our scale and are 28 inches long

-You have become so observant of everyone and everything around you, and prefer to be held and up moving around so you don't miss a thing!

-You enjoy laying in the floor and playing on your blanket as long as mommy, daddy, or big brother are close by to play with you!

-You have started grabbing and just in the last week have taken hold of Mommy and big brother's hair more than once!

-You really enjoy your toys now, especially your alligator and giraffe.

-You love to sit in Mommy's lap with big brother and listen to Mommy read books and look at the bright pictures!

-You are still being very stubborn about rolling from your back to your belly, you get 95% there and then get very frustrated and start fussing. So you mostly just roll side to side and rotate in big circles on the floor. *UPDATE* 3 hours after I published this Ethan finally rolled back to belly! :)

-You are so smiley and happy! You have the most beautiful big blue eyes!

-Your "new" hair is coming in and it's a light brown with some blond highlights.

-You love to "talk" and make all kinds of funny noises including growling!

-You laugh out loud when we play peek-a-boo!

-You love to be talked to and protest when any of us leave the room!

-You are not impressed with bathtime. You don't cry or fuss, you just sit there like you would rather be doing anything else but that! I keep thinking you will start splashing and enjoying it, but so far you don't, so we make bathtime quick!

-Same thing goes with going out to the store or on errands. You don't necessarily fuss, but you look at me like "why aren't we at home?" lol, your serious little personality is so funny to me!

-You loved to be held, hugged, kissed, and snuggled pretty much all the time! And that is OKAY with me! :)

-Your sleeping is anyone's guess, I am not even trying to put you on a schedule/routine anymore! You will do one thing for 5 nights and then something else the next 5! You sleep a combination of in your crib in our room, in your bouncy seat, and in bed with mommy nursing. In general though, you go to sleep around 8 and eat at midnight and 4 and then are up around 7. -You are not a great napper, and mostly just take your naps while you nurse.

-You are still nursing about 4-6 times a day and a couple times at night. Sometimes at night I think nursing is more for comfort than hunger!

-Whether you are nursing or taking a bottle, you are easily distracted and have to take several breaks to look around and make sure you aren't missing anything!

-You have started taking a binky for short periods of time. It's the soothie binky that we got in the hospital. You still will not take the super cute Mam pacifiers I have for you!
-We have tried feeding you rice cereal and bananas a few times and you haven't swallowed a single bite! It doesn't seem to be affecting your growth though ;) We will probably try again in a few weeks.

You are such a joy in our lives and we love you very much!!!
