"Mmmmm and Kack Kack"

This is a video of Ayden's latest animal sounds. A cow says "Mmmmm" and the duck says "kack, kack"! Notice when I whisper quack, quack to him he whispers it back! The video is a little shaky, he wanted to run back and forth on the couch while talking!

"Dancing"

Ayden loves to "dance" regardless of whether music is playing or not! He was in full showing-out mode this afternoon and I caught a little of it on camera! Also notice he has a binky in his mouth and one in his hand- he likes to carry an extra one around and will interchange them every few minutes, lol :)

Ayden's 1st trip to the Fair!

We introduced Ayden to the amazing (and sometimes scary!) adventure of the Arkansas-Oklahoma State Fair tonight! Now that he has had all his shots I figured it was safe! :) He got to feed goats at the petting zoo, ride the carousel, and eat a corndog and cotton candy, what could be more fun?!

I was able to catch Ayden and Andy playing fetch on video this morning! As it turns out, though, you should not let a dog play fetch with a big rubber ball. Listen at the end to hear it POP! Whoops!

Ayden updates

Just wanted to post about some of Ayden's latest antics at 13 months:

-He talks nonstop, using different voice inflections and hand gestures. We still just aren't quite sure which language he is speaking in!

-The most common words he chooses to speak in English are: momma, da-da, Jack (for EVERY dog), bite, ball, bye-bye, ba-ba (bottle), no

-He follows simple commands such as- bring me the ball, bring me the book, go find your binky, let's go outside, etc.

-If you ask him if he is hungry he runs to his highchair.

-If you ask him if he wants to take a bubble bath, he drops everything and runs to his bathroom, bangs on the door, and starts trying to undress!

-He shakes his head no very passionately when we ask if he is ready to go night-night

-He can throw a ball (check back later for a video of this)

-As noted in yesterday's post, he has started climbing. I first noticed this when I found him standing in his rocking chair in his room rocking back and forth!

-We recently discovered he loves chips and guacamole!

-He has the absolute best sense of humor and will do anything for some laughs!

Thats all I can think of right now, although it seems he does something newer and cuter everyday!

Packing: A Toddler's Viewpoint

I have started the process of packing up boxes for the move. However, as you can probably imagine, this is not easily accomplished with a 13 month old in the house! He either unpacks the boxes as I pack them, or climbs in or on the boxes! (Yes, by the way, he has starting CLIMBING! Yikes!) I could very easily become frustrated by this "one step forward, two steps backward" approach, but seriously, how can you get mad at THAT face?!

Moving!

We are officially moving to Northwest Arkansas on October 12th for Chris to begin work with Wal-Mart Corporate Office. We will be renting a 3 bedroom apartment in Rogers until our house sells and then we will look for something more permanent. We are very excited/nervous about all the changes ahead and the reality of the whole thing is finally hitting us as Chris gave his notice at USA Truck today! Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers during this exciting transition in our lives!

To all of our family and friends who wish to and are able to attend Chris' MBA graduation ceremony, it will be Saturday, December 20th at 10 AM at John Brown University in Siloam Springs. I am planning a party in his honor at our house after the ceremony, hope to see you all there!

House hunting!

Chris, Ayden, and I spent the weekend house hunting, and wow, what a tedious and exhausting process that turned out to be! We looked at over a dozen houses and finally narrowed it down to 2 and we are just waiting to hear a few more details on them before making our decision. Both are located in neighborhoods with a playground and pool which was a huge plus! Here are the contenders!

This is our first choice, we are negotiating a lower price. 4 bedrooms/2 baths, open floor plan, fully fenced backyard, deck, close to work.
Option #2- 3 bedroom/2 bath, partially fenced backyard. Beautiful open floor plan, longer commute to work.

Kenny Chesney Concert!

Last night I went to Tulsa with Christy and Victoria to see Kenny Chesney in concert. It was hands-down the best concert I've ever been to! It was an awesome show with appearances by Miranda Lambert (LeeAnn Rimes was supposed to appear but she was sick) and Uncle Kracker. We only wish the show had lasted longer, we could have kept cheering and singing all night!

Ayden's 1st night away!

Last night Ayden spent his very first night away from home without me or Chris. My parents got a new RV and brought it to a local campground for the weekend. I had to work last night anyway, and since they have been chomping at the bits to have him all to themselves for awhile now, it was the perfect opportunity to let them have him for the night! (I'm still not quite ready to send him to Mena without us!) He had the time of his life, and was too busy showing out for Grandma and Pappaw to cry for mommy or daddy. He loved exploring a new and different place and proved what a big boy he is really getting to be!

Rocking horse

Ayden got a rocking horse from his Paw Paw and Memaw several months ago, and has finally figured out how to rock back and forth on it. What fun!
